How to get to Iriomote island.

From Ishigaki customers
Please be on board from Ishigaki ferry terminal to Uehara port(Iriomote Island;上原港)
at 7:40 (※From July till September)
or at 8:30 (※From October till June)
Including lunch and insurance cost
We can pick up only western area (Includes Niraikanai and PainuMaya)
Day trip from Ishigaki island is OK.We welcome you with a sign that says “Nonpura” in Uehara port.
There are English operators in felly terminal, so everything will be OK.
Strong north winds will require Uehara-bound ferries to travel the safer route to Ohara.In these cases, get on board Ohara-bound ferry at 8:30 am.

About Iriomote island.

Iriomote island has an area of 289.27ｋｍ²　and a population of 2.266.This is the second largest in Okinawa Prefecture after Okinawa island it self.
This island called “Japanese Amazon”, because this is blanketed the largest mangrove forest in Japan.Fell the power of nature made a long time age in the original ecosystem.
When you look around in mangrove forest, you may find

Heritiera Littoralis named Sakishima Suo tree in Japan has buttress roots are large roots on all sides of shallowly rooted tree.That looks great taste.

The island is famed for the Iriomote cat, Crested serpent eagle, Critically Endangered wild animals.So this is

Schedule	>Morning Part 8:30〜9:00 We pick up in the Hostel or Uehara port. 9:30 Checking in, Preparation and Practice how to use a paddle.For beginners without worries. 10:00　Starting the canoeing about 40 minutes. 11:00　Trekking in the tropical jungle 11:15　Break and lunch time under the waterfall.Let’s try to swim in the basin. 12:30　Coming down and Paddling same way. 14:00 Dropping off Uehara port.
